That a reduction in sneak attack for advancing. Or as advised to use the lower progression only, then the sneak attack die would be 2d6.
CHEMIST AND ALCHEMIST SANDVOX PLUS
Taking the 5 lvl of snare setter would get 1d6 sneak attackĪs read above the toon would have 5d6 from vivisectionist plus 1d6 from snare setter = 6d6 total. In this case of kobold snare setter the first die is at lvl 5, thus lvl 1-4 don't count toward this ability until reaching 5th lvl or higher.Ĥ lvl Kobold snare setter has no sneak attackĥ lvl vivisectionist has 3d6 sneak attack

And that "If a character already has sneak attack from another class, the levels from the classes that grant sneak attack stack to determine the effective rogue level for the sneak attack’s extra damage dice" So it's not stacking with actual rogue levels, or at the rate of the other sneak attack, it's saying that his effective rogue level is equal to the total of all sneak attacking classes he has. It says the vivi is treated as the rogue of equal level. Since the vivisectionist stacks with his rogue levels that is the rate he would still get it at since that's the rate his rogue levels grant. How does it work with slayers or other reduced Sneak attack progressions? Slayers don't have effective rogue levels.Įven if I was to grant your position (not saying I do, the wording is only awkward because rogue's were the only thing with sneak attack at the time) it wouldn't matter because his actual rogue levels grant sneak attack at the rate stated. No the vivisectionist says it gets sneak attack as an equal level rogue, and if you have other sneak attack classes that their levels combine for this effective rogue level. (edit: changed due to not remembering snare setter had reduced sneak attack progression and provide explanation). You might be better served by simply going rogue(underground chemist) with VMC(alchemist), if your primary concern is getting bombs and doing sneak attack damage with them. Therefore it loses its own "normal" progression (being 1 die every odd level) and uses the other classes progression (being the 1 die at level 5 and 1 every 4 after). The alchemist(vivisectionist) archetype states when it is applied with another class that gives sneak attack you simply stack its levels with the other class to figure out the number of dice you get. Same as a kobold snare setter rogue due to the way the alchemist(vivisectionist) archetype is written.
